Keelcroft / Cross-Site Issue Sync for Jira / Data deletion
Data deletion
Effective 7 October 2026. How to remove everything the app holds, and what happens to each kind of record.
Deleting app data never deletes your work.
Unlinking a pair, pausing sync, or uninstalling the app deletes only the app’s own records. Issues on both sites are left exactly as they are. The only issue this app ever deletes is the disposable one its own setup check created.
Delete one linked pair
Open the issue, use the Partner site panel, and choose Unlink. The link record and both of its lookup entries are removed immediately. Neither issue is touched, and neither is changed again after that.
Stop all syncing without deleting
In Project settings, open Cross-Site Issue Sync and choose Pause sync. The app stops writing, stops checking the partner project, removes the webhook it registered on the partner site and discards its signing secret. Nothing is synchronised until you turn sync back on.
Delete everything
Pause sync, then uninstall the app. Atlassian removes the app’s Forge storage, which includes the connection settings, all link records, the event journal, and the encrypted partner credentials.
What is deleted, and when
- Link record for one pair — immediately, when you unlink that issue.
- The partner webhook and its secret — immediately, when you pause sync.
- Event journal entries — 90 days after their last write, automatically.
- Connection settings, all link records and the stored email and API token — on uninstall. Atlassian retains Forge hosted storage for 28 days afterwards, then deletes it.
Things only the partner can remove
- The API token. Revoke it at id.atlassian.com, signed in as the partner user. Do this first if you believe it has been exposed.
- The partner webhook, if the app could not remove it. Delete “Cross-Site Issue Sync” under System > WebHooks on the partner site. Once its secret is discarded it cannot deliver anything the app accepts.
- The setup-check issue, if the partner user could not delete it. The check result says so; delete it from the partner project.
